Chris Lynn who was especially roped in with high expectations to play the tri-series final against  New Zealand had to leave the field after he injured his right shoulder in an attempt to save a run inside the 30-yard circle.

In a devastating sight for fans of Australian cricket, Lynn suffered the blow after an awkward fall during the ninth over of the Black Caps' innings on Wednesday evening.

Fielding at mid-wicket, Lynn sprinted to his left to stop a ball and reached across his body with his right arm before appearing to jar it on the turf.

Australia's medical staff inspected the damage and escorted Lynn from the field, with the batsman clutching his right arm in pain.It was later confirmed that he had dislocated his shoulder, but it has been put back in place. He will remain off the field for the rest of the innings.

He was just fit in time to play the BBL for his franchise Brisbane Heat after missing the early part of the tournament.

As far as his upcoming IPL season is concerned the KKR franchise has pinned their hopes on the hard-hitting Australian 20 specialist. They are even contemplating over Lynn to lead the Kolkata Knight Riders, however, his recent injury will open up questions once again.

Chris  Lynn was bought by KKR for 9.6 crores. Lynn started his IPL career with KKR and four years down the line, Lynn has went on to become one of the key figures in the KKR outfit.

As far as this final is concerned, whether Lynn takes any further part in this contest is yet to be seen. He is slated to bat at number three in the batting line up with Warner and Short opening the batting for Australia when they get down to chase the New Zealand total.
