While David Warner led Australian team is waiting to play the finals of the Trans Tasman tri-series against New Zealand, Steve Smith and co are down to the training sessions in South Africa. They play a four-match Test series immediately after the conclusion of the current series and by all means, it's going to be an evenly contested one. They are down to doing a unique fielding session under fielding coach Brad Haddin.
The Australian fielding coach Brad Haddin was seen to do a different kind of a fielding drill all together. He was seen doing throwdown to the Australian players keeping a white bedsheet and doing the throwdowns on the other side of it.
When asked about the reason behind such a fielding drill ahead of the finals, Haddin said they are doing that in an attempt to keep the players aware and to help them concentrate on the game rather than having their minds diverted during the phase of play. This fielding drill was also done keeping in mind the reflexes of the players. Haddin's aim as said was to keep the fielders aware both to the pacer and the spinner. The main aim of this fielding drill was to improve the players on their reaction skills.
Australia and New Zealand will play the final of the tri-series at Auckland. New Zealand by virtue of winning a game against England earlier moved onto play the finals, even after losing the game of the league stages against England. Having a better run rate than England ensured that the Kiwis get a place in the final instead of England. The final will be played on Wednesday at Auckland.
