New Zealand head coach Mike Hesson, on Monday, has come out with his own viewpoint on Trevor Bayliss's call to scrape T20 internationals after England's win over New Zealand in Hamilton. 

 Hesson acknowledged the concerns of his English counterpart regarding the exhausted scheduled for players and coaches but said T20 had an important role to play internationally.

As per AFP, Hesson said, “There's always a workload issue, I think that's fair, but there's also a revenue generation issue. In some countries that's not as big a deal but for New Zealand Cricket, to get 35,000 people to Eden Park is huge for us, huge for the game and huge for the promotion of the game.”

England coach also suggested that the administrators could leave T20 to domestic competitions such as Indian Premier League and the Australian Big Bash League, but Hesson doesn’t necessarily agree with Bayliss on this point. 

Bayliss told Sky Sports, “I haven’t changed my opinion - I wouldn’t play T20 international cricket. If you want to play a World Cup every four years or so then maybe get the international teams to play six months before, but I’d just let the franchises play. I think [separate T20 coaches] is definitely the way it’s heading if we continue to put in so many games. There will be a blow-out with coaches.”

Hesson signed off by saying, “Too right they are. You've got guys that only play T20 and that's their chance to play international cricket, so I think absolutely it's meaningful.”

On Sunday (18 February), New Zealand defeated England by 2-runs in Hamilton and reached the final of the Trans-Tasman tri-series.The Black Caps will now face Australia in Auckland on Wednesday.
